Todd Ahlsten grew up in Santa Rosa, California, where a wildfire recently burned over 8,000 buildings, including more than 3,000 homes. Todd's parents evacuated their home for a week but were fortunate to be able to move back in.

I met Quaylin Wesley--or Quay as his friends call him--in the spring of 2016. He had recently completed his junior year at McClymonds High School (known colloquially as "Mack") in West Oakland and was about to begin a summer internship at tech giant Intel
